LSHSL Marketing Activities

Goal
To make the LSHSL a visible and active part of the teaching and learning experience of the health affairs division

Specific Promotional Activities

1. Faculty Form Letter – At the beginning of each semester, faculty members are sent a letter informing them of the availability of the library education Program

2. Faculty/Library Liaison – The Library assigns a staff member to each academic department in an effort to make the faculty and researchers aware of the education program, workshops, and materials relevant to their particular subject discipline.

3. Workshops – The library will regularly plan workshops to make faculty aware of specific services and materials available, and to keep them updated on the latest technology.

4. Students’ orientation – Incoming and transfer students are given a thorough tour of the library and are encouraged to take advantage of the library services.

5. Handouts and Flyers

a. General Guide to the Library – A printed guide to general information on the library’s major services and hours is available.

b. Departmental Flyers – Access Services, Interlibrary Loan, Reference and Special Collections departments provide User Guides delineating services provided.

c. Public Services Information Rack – Contains miscellaneous handouts, promotional flyers, and subject bibliographies.

d. LSHSL Web Site - provides library policies and procedures, hours of operation, holdings, events calendar, etc.

6. Displays – Promotional displays are designed twice a year and placed in the library lobby.

The Health Sciences Luminaries Poster Series highlights HU health sciences professionals, past and present, who are prominent in their fields. These 24" x 36" color posters are on display in the LSHSL lobby and are available for loan to HU departments.
