ELECTRONIC DATABASES

CINAHL(through OVID) R Description: Provides indexing for over 950 nursing, allied health and health sciences journals. CINAHL Information Systems assembles this database

Ingentaconnect Description: INGENTA supplies access to a comprehensive collections of 8,000 academic and professional publications. While many of the articles in its database are full-text, INGENTA also indicates other sources for full-text.

MD Consult R Description: Access to MD Consult, the most comprehensive clinical information service online. When MDConsult page opens, click "Open Generic Edition" or set up a customized account.

OVID R Description: Provides online access to a group of databases including key bibliographic databases, full text journals, evidence-based medicine resources and reference texts. LSHSL's subscription includes online access to 24 online medical books (Books@OVID), databases and electronic journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, Cancerlit, Evidence-Based Medicine Reviews, Medline, CINAHL, AMED, etc.

PubMed Description: MEDLINE, NLM's premier bibliographic database containing over 11 million references to journal articles in life sciences with a concentration on biomedicine.

SCIENCEDIRECT R Description: Unlimited access to abstracts from the most frequently cited journals in the fields of science, technology and medicine, including browsable tables of contents as well as full text of journals to which the library subscribes. Includes the journals database formerly available from IDEAL. Number of simultaneous logons: Unlimited.

UpToDate R Description: Answers the clinical questions for patient care that arise in daily practice. Quick access for point of care use, employing a 'What's New, by specialty' approach.
